Smocking Arts Guild of America visits EGA Headquarters
October 12, 2022
EGA was delighted to have a visit by 47 members of the Smocking Arts Guild of America (SAGA) on Tuesday, 11 October 2022. SAGA was in Louisville for their 2022 annual conference at the Galt House, and arranged to visit EGA Headquarters as part of their pre-conference tour. Several members of SAGA are also EGA members, visiting headquarters for the first time. In addition, other SAGA members have come by EGA on their own during the week to visit. The SAGA visitors were in awe of the EGA lending library, and impressed by the items on display from EGA’s permanent collection.
Many SAGA members also do other embroidery, and want to join EGA as well. As one SAGA member said, “I need another guild to join!” Many thanks to Sally Rifenburg, SAGA VP of Operations and President-Elect, for working with us to have EGA be a part of their Louisville experience.
