For our November 2023 stitch-a-long on Facebook we are stitching a lovely house in a project by stitch-a-long admin Helena Whyte, from our Pajarito Chapter in New Mexico.
Here’s more about this month’s project:
Grandma’s House is a quilt block embroidered in a 10 inch hoop. The pueblo house is made using a strip of fabric and architectural details are added to outline the doors and windows using a variety of stitches. Chilies and roses are also added using bullion knots, french knots and stem stitch for the stems. You can follow the instructions and make the house just as the picture shows, or use your creativity to modify the house based on your own memories of Grandma’s house or your own home.
