Fiber artist Heather Kerley’s art encompasses a diverse range of media and uses freeform embroidery to create abstract designs of good composition and powerful color choices. In the class, watercolor exercises and collage work will ease us into designing abstracts that will inspire the stitches and colors to use on upcycled and treasured cloth. We all will work from our own stash of threads and fabrics rather than purchase new materials. In addition, Heather has various ways that we can use to finish and present our compositions.
