Our Education Department has added a new course to our selection of Group Correspondence Courses: Your Roots Are Showing with Diane Herrmann.
This Group Correspondence Class (GCC) features a basket of vegetables rooted to the earth. By employing traditional needlepoint stitches alongside three-dimensional work, you will create stylized vegetables in and under their basket. Using wire, padding techniques, stranded floss, and a variety of other interesting threads, you will learn needle weaving, how to attach stumpwork slips, and how to pad and stitch for effect and dimension. The class will discuss perspective and placement of individual elements in the design. Trellis patterns in the border and background finish off the design.
Registration for this course is currently available to groups. There is a $200 fee per group, and each student in the group pays $35 for a PDF text or $85 for a printed and mailed copy of the text.
Gather your favorite stitchers, make a group and sign up! If you are interested in registering for this Group Correspondence Course, you can learn more about the process and download the registration form from our Group Correspondence Course page.
