Calling All Teachers: Submit Your Proposals for the South Central Region 2027 Retreat: We Come in Pieces

The South Central Region (SCR) is proud to announce a close encounter of the stitching kind for the 2027 in person UFO (Unfinished Objects) event, “We Come in Pieces.”

The otherworldly 2027 event is set for June 23-27, 2027 at the Pflugerville Courtyard Marriott, 16100 Impact Way, which is near Austin, TX.

This event will be more of a retreat style experience, focusing on completing UFOs and touching on finishing techniques. We will provide two types of learning experiences for attendees, lectures and mini classes.

Lectures

    • 30 minutes to 1 hour. Lecturers will present once during the retreat. The specific day and time will be determined during the contracting process.
    • Topics- Finishing techniques or other topics of general interest to stitchers, such as how to compensate, types of tools, etc.
    • Virtual lectures are an option.
    • If lecturing in person, SCR has a projector, screen, and microphone you may use.

Mini Classes

    • 1-2 hours to complete the project. Each class will be taught once during the retreat. The specific day and time will be determined during the contracting process.
    • Finishing techniques or other small projects

We encourage you to pull from the galaxies of possibilities and submit a proposal.
