Fishbone Stitch: A stitch that can be angled in any direction and is great for leaves

The Fishbone Stitch provides a close filling for small stitches. It is ideal for leaves, and can be angled in any direction. It is worked from the outside of area to be stitched to the inside. Open fishbone can be used when complete coverage is not ideal, and raised fishbone can be used to fill small shapes for an embossed look.
