Bobbie Pilling Memorial Award 2023: Show us your “Outside the Box” Embroidery Work

The calendar says spring is coming! The deadline for entering a work in the Bobbie Pilling Memorial Award is rapidly approaching.

Have you stretched yourself…to be creative, to experiment, to go beyond your comfort zone by thinking “outside the box”? Have you taken the traditional and turned it inside out using stitches and materials in an unusual and modern way? If you created an original work of embroidery with artistic merit and that shows your growth as an embroiderer – that you pushed yourself beyond your comfort zone – consider entering one work for the Bobbie Pilling Memorial Award.

The electronic entry (application, artist statement and photo of the work) deadline is May 1, 2023. The works with the artist statement will be judged and then exhibited at the national seminar in Boston, MA. You will need to send a prepaid shipping label when you send the work. Further information and the entry form can be found here or contact judgecertification@egausa.org, subject line Pilling Award.
