1776 Commemorative
Needlework Map
Stitch a map depictings the original 13 colonies!
The 250th anniversary of our country’s independence and the Declaration of Independence is the focus of this historic needlework map. The map depicts the original 13 colonies with lettering and motifs reflective of the locations and time period. It explores details found in vintage hand-drawn pen and ink maps: Roman, script, and block lettering, historical pictures and motifs, and a simple blackwork border. The shorelines are hand-painted as was done on early maps.
The map is completed with counted techniques (cross and back stitch) and hand painting of the shorelines and motifs, allowing stitchers to embellish their map to suit. The map may be worked on your favorite frame, scroll frame, hoop, or worked in hand.
This is a beautiful commemorative of the original 13 colonies and an important event in our country’s history! It is suitable for advanced beginner to advanced stitchers and for anyone who might have thought about working a needlework map at some point. It would make an important heirloom treasure for any family.
