Technical Excellence Program: Crewel Embroidery

$50.00

EGA’s Technical Excellence Program: Crewel Embroidery challenges participants to be the best in executing a variety of crewel embroidery stitches. Each of the 4 steps includes a provided design, instructions that specify the placement of specific stitches, a list of required crewel wool colors to be used for each motif, and the ground fabric to be used. This is a certification, not an instructional program. In order to meet the high standards of the program, participants are expected to be advanced stitchers who understand crewel techniques. Submissions are judged on how well the candidate demonstrates stitching expertise and follows the directions. Feedback will include a description of specific deficiencies to be corrected (if necessary) but will not include instructions on how to correct them. A certificate of Technical Excellence will be issued to successful candidates and their accomplishment will be recognized in Needle Arts.
