Here are some hints for removing the threads on Side 1 of the Aztec Scissors Case shared by Kate in the Stitch-a-long Group on Facebook:
Hints for removing threads on Side 1 of the Aztec Scissors Case….A couple people have mentioned the difficulty of the thread removal. It’s not the easiest thing, but slow and steady and a big tapestry needle helped do it for me. I used the tapestry needle to unpick the threads to get things going. I wasn’t able to just loosen an end and pull out the thread like you can with linen. If you have a pair of tweezers, those can be helpful too. Here are some additional pictures illustrating the thread removal step-by-step. Also, I did NOT wet the canvas to do this step. I think it’s important to keep the sizing in the canvas. Once you get the first couple of rows out, you can wiggle the threads more and things get a lot easier.(See some pictures in the Facebook post)
