Have you been following EGA on social media? Social media provides us with many ways to share beautiful embroidery and to show others the benefits of being part of an awesome organization like EGA. On Facebook we get to share articles and projects, on Instagram we share lovely embroidery by our members and other fiber artists, on Pinterest we share projects and learning opportunities, and so on. What we share on these social media networks gives us the opportunity to present embroidery and our mission to many people who may have never heard of EGA. But did you know that there are some simple ways in which you can help EGA reach a larger audience and potentially gain new members?
Here are the ways in which you can help EGA!
On Facebook
Like and Follow our Facebook Page!
If you are on Facebook, the first way to help us is to Like and Follow our National EGA Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/EGAUSA
Like, Share and Comment on our Facebook posts
We post to Facebook at least once every weekday. Another important thing you can do to help us on Facebook is to Like, Share and Comment on the posts you see on your timeline. Simply clicking Like and leaving a comment on a post can make a big difference, because when people enjoy (like!) the post, it tells Facebook it is good content and to show it on more people’s timelines.
Join and Participate in our EGA Stitch-a-long Facebook Group
The EGA Stitch-a-long Group on Facebook has over 5K stitchers stitching a different project every month. Please visit the group and join here. Once you have joined, you will be able to see and comment on posts, share pictures of your progress on EGA projects and classes, and more. The stitch-a-long group is a great place to interact with stitchers from all over while you stitch new projects – new friends await!

Like, Comment and Share our Posts
We post to Instagram at least once every weekday. If you see a post from our account when browsing Instagram, you can help us reach more people by Liking and Commenting on those posts. While sharing works a bit differently on Instagram, an additional way to help us get more exposure there is to share our posts to your Instagram story. This will show the post to your followers and provide a link to the original post.
Share your work using the hashtag #EGAStitchers
We love seeing and sharing our members’ embroidery! When you post photos of your embroidery to Instagram, make sure to include the hashtag #EGAStitchers in the caption. You can already see the work of members who have used the hashtag in their posts here.
Not sure what to share on your Instagram? Let us see if you are stitching one of the many projects on our website, or your current progress in one of our classes, or simply a project you are working on or something you have stitched in the past.
As long as your account is set to public, we can see it and share it on our main account. If your account is set to private, we may have some issues seeing your photos. You can change this on Instagram by going to Settings > Privacy and making sure the Private Account option is unchecked.
