Lazy Summer Day

Work on a beautiful surface embroidery design!

A beginner-level surface embroidery design, Lazy Summer Day with Judy Borreson Caruso tempts you to smell the flowers and enjoy nature. In addition to a tree and flowers, it includes a rabbit, butterfly and bird. Beginner-level stitches required to complete this design include stem, lazy daisy, outline, French knot, fly, feather, stacked outline, back stitch, satin stitch, bullion, straight, couching, alternating satin stitch leaf and cast-on. Cotton threads used include DMC stranded cotton, Sampler Threads, and Wildflowers. Beads and Kreinik metallic thread embellish the piece.

  • About teacher Judy Borreson Caruso

    Judy Borreson Caruso designs and teaches Surface Embroidery, Brazilian Dimensional Embroidery and Hardanger locally, regionally and internationally. Judy has taught Brazilian Dimensional Embroidery at the Brazilian Dimensional Embroidery International Guild Seminar for the past dozen years. In 2019-2020 she taught EGA’s Online Studio Class, Beginning Brazilian Dimensional Embroidery. Judy also teaches in the Madison WI area and has taught at a Heartland Regional EGA workshop. She is a member and past president of the Madison (WI) Area Chapter of The Embroiderers’ Guild of America and member of the Brazilian Dimensional Embroidery International Guild.
