• Do I understand correctly that the bird was done with one strand of floss?

  • Is there something I can do to have less space between the dark blue and light blue sections of the chilly corner?

  • I have a question about the transition from the waffle stitch to the 8 pointed star. Because this is a new stitch to me, I took scrap fabric and I stitched the star so I was sure I understood the pattern before I began working it on my actual design. According to the diagram for the waffle stitch, the starting point for the 8 point star is…[Read more]

    • I have looked at your star and my chart. I see the up 3 and up 4. The points of the star match up with the diagonals and the vertical and horizontal basting. Is there a chance that your diagonal basting is off a bit. Otherwise I can’t explain it. As your points match up with your basting and my points matched up with my basting. I think you…[Read more]

    • I thought I had the waffle correct and everything else seemed to come out correctly. I think what I’ll do is try working it again and see if I get the same result I must have done something wrong. Thanks, Lorene!

On Labor Day I finished my first stumpwork project, “Forest Floor” by Kay Dennis (from issue 104 of Inspirations magazine). It was a lot of fun, with a wide variety of techniques. (Needlelace, needle weaving, beads, etc.)
