My latest ornaments using Romanian Point Lace techniques … the heart adapts a vintage Battenburg Lace pattern and the two diamonds are adapted from a Russian Lace Pattern book in the EGA Library at Headquarters. The library is such a great resource for members — and they will loan books out to any members, mailing them if necessary. Since I’m i…[Read more]

I belonged to the Embroiderers’ Guild of Brazos Valley, College Station, TX, for many years prior to moving to MT. I was so pleased to locate an EGA chapter here in Billings, MT this month. Well, after 25+ years, I’m slowly getting back to embroidering on a regular basis (as apposed to once a year).
I started this month tackling…[Read more] -

Those are beautiful! Was this a class?

Hi @cinda-hall, these are gorgeous! If you would like to share more about the project for our blog please let us know at news@egausa.org.

Beautiful!

Oh, they are beautiful! I found this project online and suggested it as a project for our night group. Unfortunately, my suggestion fell flat. I think I will make one anyway. The others are just missing out.

I hope someone else has finished the Ladybird\’s Legacy and will post a photo????
I neglected to add that I left off Deb\’s insects on my piece; she did it with a spider, ladybug, dragonfly, and butterfly, but I opted for flowers-only. I would love to have someone show off the whole thing!
Anyone? Bueller? -

Wishing I was going to Louisville. I think it will be a wonderful seminar. I will see Heartland people in the Quad-Cities later in October.

Oh my goodness what a GREAT idea! Is this your own concept??? You must share how you got that silhouette; did you trace a shadow or a photo? And the flower hair is genius. Bravo!
-
Thank you for the compliment Patty. My daughter drew the profile of Ryan from a picture. I then traced it onto my linen. I had always liked the black silhouettes that were common when my children were little. I wanted to stitch her profile with the flowers because it is so unique and I have such a love of embroidery. I think it will make such a…[Read more]

We need to share! Let’s see if this is a good place to do it!
I JUST finished this amazing wool appliqué penny rug by Deb Tirico, which was a class I took way back at National seminar in San Antonio! It is called “Lady Bird’s Legacy” and is all wildflowers from Texas. I was determined to get back to it, and it was the only thing I allowed…[Read more]-
Beautiful. Love working with wool!

Gorgeous! Hope to catch a class from her soon!

I love the penny rugs and this one is just beautiful.
-
Deb Tirico is awesome, I have several of her pieces to finish. I think I will take the Nutcracker and use it for my UFO in our Chapter, that will help me get it done.
Thanks for inviting me Patty!

This is a great idea @patricia-smith-gardner!

I kept waiting for someone to start a “show off” group, and finally decided there’s no bigger Show Off than moi. Be the change you seek, and all that. :0)

Where do I find my EGA#? I need to for the Fiber Forum Retreat registration. Thanks for the help.
-
When you join the membership person from your group should give you an EGA card. However, we do not automatically have the EGA #. It would come from Tonya Parks @ EGA, if your membership person does not have it yet. You could email Tonya if necessary. She’s great to work with and usually responds very quickly.
-
Your EGA number is the line above your name on your NeedleArts address label. 🙂
