• I just received my issues of Needlearts and was thrilled that you had included part III of Ambrosia Honey. I have been on the hunt for that issue. Thank you, thank you. Nadine Lonergan

  • Thanks to all of the GLR people who signed into a trial run of Zoom this week. We hit over 40 board members, chapter presidents and officers. Thanks, and look for more virtual opportunities.

  • virtual shows— I saw two calls for work for virtual shows whose themes matched some work, so I sent them off.

  • An update from my first post……A couple weeks ago I finally got a start on Hazel Blomkamp’s Norman, the turtle. The design is a bit smaller as I am using the one in the picture attached to practice the stitches, most of which are new to me, before starting on the larger design. Finished the EGA #bewellandstitch Stitch-a-Long cross stitch.…[Read more]

    • Hi Janice, Love your Norman I have the book and have been wanted to do the Ostrich keep us posted on your progress. What did you use for transferring the design?

      Jamie Cerda

    • Hi Jamie, Thank you. I printed out the design on regular copy paper, then traced the design on the back of the paper with one of the Sublime Stitching Iron-On transfer pens. Then ironed the design onto the linen. Kind of funny….Yesterday, I enlarged the design to about 8 x 10 inches but with the threads suggested for the needleweaving, I am…[Read more]

  • I am back in my office this week, but with only 3 of us here, it’s pretty low risk. I’ve been at home for 3 weeks though and got a ton of stitching done. I went back through unfinished projects that I wanted to get done and finished an Alison Cole stumpwork piece and am now working on a Catherine Jordan piece called “The Gift” that was a Dogwood…[Read more]

  • Sally – which chapter in NZ are you trading with? We (Hanging By A Thread) do this also – and thought we were the only chapter.

    • To clarify – our chapter in Placerville CA (Hanging By A Thread) has had a sister chapter in NZ for the last 8 years. They are in New Plymouth (North Island) and each holiday we have a wonderful sharing of beautifully stitched gifts. Always a great surprise when their package arrives.

    • Cedar Valley Chapter in Cedar Rapids, Iowa has had North Shore chapter since the beginning of the program. North Shore is in the Auckland area of the North Island.
A few years ago I connected with distant cousins who happen to live in Auckland and was able to visit them on the way home from Australia. It turns out that their daughter,…[Read more]

    • That is wonderful – it is one of the most enjoyable projects that we participate in through EGA. Now for a visit there someday.

  • I’ve been stitching bookmarks. Any ideas on how to finish the one on the right?

  • Members of the Silver Meadows Chapter EGA are quite busy sewing protective masks for frontline healthcare workers & others, including children, here in Las Vegas, but they still find time to put needle to canvas & cloth to create works of true beauty.

  • Stitched a couple of bookmarks this weekend. Any suggestions on finishing the one on the right?

  • I need to change mailing address for Vintage Log Cabin. Where shall I send that new information?

  • So proud of our Dogwood chapter members. Many are sewing facemasks for family, friends, front line workers and even their veterinarians! One of our members secured the help of her 10 year old daughter to help and together, they’ve sewn 50 masks!

  • So, I’ve decided to take this time to actually clean out my craft room. I’ve reached the point where I have little piles of projects that have fallen into that “oh-so-close” to being finished status, and obviously, finishing will be the only way to clean my room! So here is the first finish – Keys to the Kingdom by Karen Kluba. I bought the…[Read more]

  • @eileen-bennett Thinking of you! Hope you are doing well. I remember we last met at the Oct 2017, PSR Seminar at Oceanside, CA. Just wanted to share with you that I have a picture of your “Flowering Tree” little needlework sampler from the EGA Needle Arts Magazine, Sept 2017 issue, Designers Across America” project, on my desk in Sedona, AZ,…[Read more]

    • Thank you for reaching out to me Margaret. I do remember our seminar at Oceanside with fond thoughts. So many nice people, so much talent within the group. It was a pleasure for me to be there. All is well here in the Grand Rapids area but we are between two hot spots, Detroit and Chicago, with the crazy virus. As always, something good comes…[Read more]

    • @eileen-bennett Did EGA ever publish your freebie on the EGA website, as you mentioned to me in this post, a year ago. If so, can you send me the link to it.

And what about your 2021 classes? Send me any links.

      Hope you are doing okay!

  • Beading is done!. On to step 5. Question: Any words of advice regarding how to apply the interface? For example, how much pressure, how much heat, dry vs wet heat or use a pressing cloth?
