Stitch a Wessex Embroidery Needle Book in our November Stitch-a-long

For our November Stitch-a-long project on Facebook, we will be stitching a beautiful Wessex Embroidery Needle Book! The talented designer behind this month’s project is Kathi Green, one of our members from the Foothills Chapter in Colorado.

Here’s a little more about Kathi from our stitch-a-long admin Kate Gaunt: Kathi has designed a needle book to introduce us to Wessex Stitchery. Wessex uses relatively simple materials (even weave fabric or linen and embroidery floss) in visually complex patterns to create stitches that remind me of blackwork — but in vibrant colors. Kathi talks about the history of Wessex in her instructions, so let’s get straight to the fun and learn from her expertise.

You can download the pattern for this project on our Free Projects page, and while you are there check out some of the other goodies we have for you, including our Little Book of Embroidery Basics and other fun patterns.

Happy stitching!
