Updated: New Technique Basics guide: An Exploration Of Pulled Thread And Satin Stitch Embroidery

Harriet Scott

It is always a pleasure to announce the latest Education Publication for EGA members. Just added to the Technique Basic Series is An Exploration of Pulled Thread and Satin Stitch Embroidery by Harriet Scott – Updated with stitch diagrams by Melita Glavin.

Harriet based her exploration on the work of the late Hetsie van Wyk of South Africa. In addition to detailed instructions on the various stitches, there are three patterns which can be used as presented or to provide a starting point for your own designs.

Members may access this and the previous titles in the series from the Member Publications page. These are other available titles: An Introduction To Assisi Embroidery, An Introduction To Blackwork Embroidery, An Introduction To Brazilian Dimensional Embroidery, An Introduction To Counted Cross Stitch On Linen, and An Introduction To Crewel And Surface Embroidery.

We thank Harriet and Melita for making this document possible, and we continue to look for authors for future segments. Interested? Contact Education Publications at publications@egausa.org.

Update in September 2022: A new version of the document An Exploration of Pulled Thread and Satin Stitch Embroidery by Harriet Scott has been added. If you downloaded the previous version, please download the new version below.
