EGA + Grouper

EGA has teamed up with Grouper to support our members in a way like never before! This collaboration is designed to get eligible participants paid for engaging in our community, ensuring you stay healthy and connected.

Grouper, a leader in the social fitness movement, encourages healthy living through meaningful social connections and shared experiences. Grouper makes it easier than ever to access benefits that pay for part or all of the activities that keep you active and engaged. Eligible participants age 65 and older, through their participating Medicare Advantage and Supplemental plans, can now receive a check simply for staying active.

Here’s how it works: Grouper helps you connect to social activities that match your passions. As you stay socially active and participate in qualifying in-person activities with your group, Grouper works with your health plan to support the cost of your activity. Grouper will confirm eligibility, and eligible participants will receive an initial $50 check as well as $20 quarterly ongoing activity payments by Grouper.

Why did EGA partner with Grouper?
There are two primary reasons EGA chose to partner with Grouper. First, members who are eligible for the social fitness benefit with Grouper will now be able to recoup some or all of their annual EGA dues using a benefit they already have. Second, by being included in Grouper’s directory of organizations, those already using this benefit and looking for new groups to join will be able to find EGA and our chapters which will hopefully result in new EGA members.

Is EGA profiting financially from this partnership?
No.

Has EGA shared members’ information with Grouper?
Absolutely no EGA member’s personal information has been or will be shared with Grouper.

Will any personal information I share with Grouper be available to EGA?
No. Grouper will not share any information you provide to them with anyone at EGA.

Is this a scam?
No. Social fitness benefits are included in many health insurance plans. Grouper is one administrator of this benefit.
