Laid and Couched Work Dragon

Stitch a Bayeux Dragon!

Stitch a dragon, designed by the instructor and inspired by the Luttrell Psalter manuscript and other medieval sources, using Laid and Couched Work embroidery stitches, also known as the Bayeux Stitch. The project will use materials authentic to the period, such as wool ground fabric and fibers sourced from artisanal Yorkshire farms. All fibers have been hand-dyed with plant-based colors by the instructor, replicating period-appropriate dyes and materials such as woad, madder, cochineal, and more. Students will have the choice of color schemes for their dragons.

Registration starts January 1. Sign up for a reminder below!
