EGA needs YOU! Officer Candidates Needed to Fill Four Positions

EGA’s national officers perform crucial functions for our organization. These dedicated volunteers provide the leadership to guide our organization into the future. Working with the talented Headquarters staff, these individuals develop policy, manage fundraising and marketing campaigns, source new and exciting educational programs, serve as a communications conduit for our regions and chapters, and provide oversight for EGA’s financial business.

This year, four new officers are needed: president, treasurer, director of education, and director of marketing and membership. Each of these leadership roles plays a critical part in keeping EGA on the road to success.

The president provides the vision and guidance that helps EGA move forward in serving our mission. This individual works closely with the executive committee and Headquarters staff to build EGA’s plan for success. The president is the face of EGA and leads the effort to provide a strong organization for our members.

The treasurer supports the financial health of our organization, working with both the staff and the external accounting firm to provide monthly reports, reviews, and audits. The person in this position also oversees our relationship with our investment advisor to assure that EGA’s funds are appropriately managed for long-term growth.

EGA’s education department, managed by the director of education, provides a myriad of learning opportunities for members. Working with a dedicated cadre of volunteers, the director of education provides direction for the development and management of correspondence courses, online studio workshops, virtual lectures, Master Craftsman and Technical Excellence programs, Petite Projects, virtual workshops, and more. This individual also has responsibility for the permanent collection and library as well as the annual exhibits displayed at seminars.

With the goal of attracting more members for EGA, the director of marketing and membership works with our outside agency to produce promotional efforts to increase EGA’s presence in the needlework community. This includes managing the production of blog interviews with makers, placing media buys online and in print publications, overseeing national, region, and chapter branding and logo approval, developing programs to aid chapters with member recruitment and retention, and working with Headquarters on strategies for membership growth.

We ask that you consider volunteering to serve in one of these important positions. Without the leadership of our officers, EGA would not be able to offer the needlework community and quality programs we have available. Now is the time to step up to help make a positive difference for EGA’s future!

If you are interested in submitting your name for consideration for one of these positions or you would like more information, please reach out to our nominating committee at jbadgerega@gmail.com.
