With EGA Chapters not meeting in person, questions have been raised about whether this year’s EGA membership renewal date will remain May 31, 2020. EGA depends on the income from membership dues to keep our headquarters operating and to continue publishing Needle Arts magazine. At this time, the membership renewal date remains May 31.
Chapter membership chairs and treasurers should coordinate emailing and snail mailing of dues notices requesting that members snail mail dues checks to the treasurer if your chapter does not allow for electronic payment of dues. Chapter treasurers should arrange to mail the appropriate dues renewals to headquarters and the region treasurer. Switching from in-person dues payment to paying by mail is part of the new normal necessitated by the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Members who pay electronically should continue to pay the way they normally do.
Your computer can bring much of the EGA world into your home and enable you to stitch and connect during this time. Click here to read the new post “Tools for Staying Connected with Your Chapter” to learn how to set up virtual meetings and stitch-ins. Make sure to also read our new post “Stay in and Stitch” to see all the free and members-only projects at your fingertips. We also have a new discussion group, Stuck at Home but Stitching, where you can share what you have been working on with other stitchers. Click here to see Stuck at Home but Stitching or find it in the left sidebar of your Profile under Groups.
And above all, stay safe; we will get through this difficult time together.
