Wild and Wonderful Little Stitches will take place at Oglebay Lodge and Resort, Wheeling, WV, May 17-18, 2019.
Four teachers have prepared classes in surface embroidery, Hardanger embroidery, felt appliqué and beading. Classes will be formally taught in the morning while a tour of Oglebay’s Mansion Museum and viewing of their special display of samplers is offered in the afternoon.
Attendees who do not wish to take the sampler tour are welcome to stay and work on their class projects in the afternoon, or to bring another project to stitch and enjoy the atmosphere.
Oglebay’s Mansion Museum has a collection of antique samplers that are not normally on display. Thanks to the kind efforts of Karen Grizell of National Trails chapter and a member of the museum’s board, the museum has agreed to set up a special display of the samplers for our group on Saturday afternoon, as well as an optional mansion museum tour.
