Hello Sarah,
I so love this class. Thank you so much.
Since the demise of fabric stores in the US I have found it very hard to locate a selection of fabrics for projects. Do you have any online (or other) suggestions?

I am wondering what solutions you can offer, p…[Read more]

Hi Beth,
You are absolutely correct, it should be subtracting 1mm not adding. I swear I thought I’d tested the calculations, but apparently I was half asleep when I did.
My apologies for confusion,

Virginia,
This is absolutely beautiful! I’m so glad you shared this with us, and I’m thrilled you were able to transfer the skills you’ve learnt into something so special to you!
I’m particularly impressed with the mitred corners on the inside of the lid and how you got the grain of the outer fabric so well lined up.
I love the use of the…[Read more]

Sarah,

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for your exceptional instructions!
I originally signed up for this class because I wanted to make an acid-free decorative box to house a family heirloom bobbin lace collar. My first box was too small for the job so I made a second, larger one to the required measurements.
The collar was from a silk gown worn in 1898 by my…[Read more]
