2022 Golden Needle Awards: We want you to show us your stitched work depicting “What I Love”

During the last week of August in 2022, Golden Needle Awards will be holding their annual judged (but not juried) themed awards exhibit at the EGA National Seminar, “Broadway Bound” in New York City. The theme for this year’s Golden Needle Awards is What I love. There are so many ways you can show the theme in your entry: is it family, a special person, a place, animals or maybe something else?

What we want you to show us in your entry in the Golden Needles Awards (only one entry per EGA member) is how your work depicts the theme of “what I love”. Your finished piece, which has been completed within the last two years, may be an original, adaptation or a non-original piece – and remember there is a special award for an EGA class piece. More information on the entry requirements, judging criteria and theme for this year can be found here. The deadline for entering is June 1, 2022 but your actual piece is not due until August.

A gallery with some of the entries from last year’s Golden Needle Awards “The Magnificent Stitch” can be found here.

The image above shows a closeup of Lady Liberty by Nigina Usmanova and it’s part of our Permanent Collection. See the full piece here.
