We are happy to offer California Dreaming, a very special design by Carolyn Standing Webb. In the language of flowers, the California poppy symbolizes dreams, relaxation and peace. A bouquet that includes poppies can mean “I dream of you.” This naturalistic group of poppies, daisies and grass is stitched in black using blackwork patterns with touches of gold and gray.
The design is 6 ½ by 8 ½ inches. The original was stitched on 32 count antique white linen with silk and metal threads. Since blackwork is worked with a single strand of thread you will need several sizes of threads that you choose. These can be either silk or cotton. Changing the count of the fabric that you use can be done but it will change the density of the patterns and the size of the design, so it will not look the same as the original. The pattern is in full color with detailed charts of the design. This design may be purchased as a PDF file sent to you via email upon receipt of your check for $20.00 and the order form.
