New Petite Project for EGA Members: Introduction to Jacobean Crewel by Leslie Mehard Brady

The Education Department is pleased to announce the newest project in the Petite Project series, Introduction to Jacobean Crewel by Leslie Mehard Brady. The newest Petite Project continues the resurgence of interest in crewel embroidery. The simple shape in Appleton crewel wool has a trellis base of laid stitches the intersections held down by simple cross stitches or more bold Smyrna cross stitches. Closed fly, padded satin, stem stitch and seed stitch are the other stitches used. It may be finished to display on a stand, a hanging or added embellishment to clothing or home furnishings.

We hope you enjoy this new project and will, with us look forward to other new projects. If you have a project you would like to share, contact publications@egausa.org with Petite Project in the subject line.
