Carolyn Standing Webb

There are still openings available for the April Extended Study Program, a 3- day blackwork class with Carolyn Standing Webb, in Salt Lake City. The class will take place on April 19, 2023 through April 23, 2023. Register by March 1 to reserve your place by sending your deposit of $100 and the completed, signed registration form (available here) to EGA Headquarters. The program cost of $650 includes the kit, teacher fee, and a tour of local sites the day before the class starts.

Arrive at the Hilton Garden Inn, downtown, on Wednesday April 19, and come to a reception that evening. Depart after class on April 23, or on the following day.

The project, Queen Catherine’s Book Cover, Bag, and Pyn Pillow, consists of three related project pieces: a tasseled, silk-lined bag with different historical designs on each side, a ribbon-tied book-shaped box that fits inside the bag, and a pin cushion. The bag and the book-shaped box are stitched not only with the traditional black that gives black work its name, accented with gold and silver threads and paillettes, but also with red and green silk.
