2021 Bobbie Pilling Memorial Award: For stitchers who take risks and play outside their comfort level

Imagine playing in your studio with an idea you have for a piece of needlework. Working out the details and laughing as it evolves! Perhaps that idea does not quite work, and you have to find an alternative solution. There is a great deal of pleasure in the process of creating. This award, dedicated to a past EGA president, Bobbie Pilling, salutes those people willing to take a risk and play outside their comfort level.

Plan now to submit a piece of original work to the 2021 Annual Bobbie Pilling Award no later than May 31, 2021. Three ribbons are awarded to EGA members for the top three original pieces of work that take the member out of their comfort zone. Tell us in your own words how this piece has challenged you to go out of the box with your work. 60 % of the points are awarded for clear statements documenting the inspiration and challenges the member encountered along the journey. 40 % are awarded for the piece itself. You have nothing to lose by submitting your original work to this program. – Pat Goaley
