I contacted EGA and they do not provide certificates of completion for online classes. This must be obtained directly from the instructor.

One more tip to try:
You can take the embroidery hoop and flip it over. So the inside of the hoop should face up while sitting on the top of a table. And the fabric will be touching the surface of the table. Now you have a hard surface to trace on. Slip the template underneath the fabric and start tracing. It should be easier to press down…[Read more]

Hi Donna!
Great question! No, there is no particular advantage. Everyone has an embroidery scissor, so I thought it’d be easier to ask students to use that. If you have a laying tool you like to use, go ahead and use it. We really just need some tool to keep the two threads aligned with each other as we stitch.

Hello Jo Ann,
Does the Pilot Frixion pen write on a sheet of paper? If it flows on a sheet of paper then it should work on the fabric. (The ink might just not be flowing yet.)
Try writing at an angle to the fabric.
If the ink is flowing on the paper, then maybe try pressing a little harder on the fabric when you trace. Use your fingers un…[Read more]

Hello Suzanne,
Yes, no problem! Don’t worry about it, sorry I missed the pen in your kit! My original plan was to send it out earlier today, but the town I am in right now (Lake Tahoe) is expecting a snow storm over the weekend. I was worried if I send it out from here, the package might get trapped up here the whole weekend until the storm cl…[Read more]

Trying to reach Connie. At a standstill. Is there an alternate way to reach instructor to remedy why traced butterfly template doesn’t transfer to fabric? Want so much to create the greeting cards.

I haven’t started yet, but I have seen the illustrations of thread manipulation using scissors. Is there any advantage to using scissors in this way as opposed to a laying tool?

Traced butterfly template multiple times but nothing transfers to the fabric. What should I do?

Hello Students!
One more thing I wanted to point out is… all of the lesson videos were filmed with a DSLR camera. So be sure to click on the little tool setting and select 1080p HD for the best video quality!

Connie thank you so much for the quick reply. I think I would prefer to have you send a pen. Sorry for the extra work but I would like to give it a try. I have plenty of things to work on in the meantime. Thanks a bunch .

Hello Suzanne,
Thank you for letting me know and sorry for the inconvenience! If you can wait, I can send out the missing pen to you today.
Otherwise, any Pilot Frixion with Heat Erasable Ink Pen will work. There are also sewing/quilter’s pens that have erasable ink, but they need to be heat erasable. If you have a light colored ink pen (n…[Read more]

Hi I did not get a pen in my kit and was wondering what would be a good substitute that would work on the delicate fabric. I’m enjoying your you-tube instructions. They are very detailed and helpful.

This is the certificate we get for GCC courses. Perhaps there’s something from the EGA for the individual online classes? I also would like some sort of document of class completion.

Hello again,
I do have a form from the certification program I am enrolled in that will do nicely. I will try to attach it from my computer as my phone wouldn’t let me do it.
When I take EGA correspondence courses, the instructor includes a certificate of completion with the final submission. Online classes are kind of new to me but the…[Read more]

Hello Kathleen,
Just sent out a new Crystal kit this evening via FedEx. They told me it will be picked up tomorrow and is a guaranteed delivery in 3 days (tracking says 3/6/23). I am not sure if I should be posting the Tracking # here, so I will give it to Rand to email to you.
