Good morning Connie,
My kit just arrived and I’m busy printing the directions.
If you’d like, you can send everything to either Laura or I.
We live in the same city and see each other regularly.Would it be possible to get another kit so that I can make more
of these beautiful butterflies?
Yours truly,
Kathleen -

Hi Connie,
I happened to have received both kits yesterday! One in the mail (USPS), and the other from Fed Ex. I’m happy to pay for the extra kit, if that can be arranged somehow. Maybe Rand can invoice me? Or I can pay you directly. Thank you so much for being on top of this. I’ll begin this afternoon!

This was an outstanding class, and I am so glad I had the opportunity to learn this skill, which I have been wanting to learn for a long time. The videos made this the best online class I have seen to date, by far. Thank you Sarah!
Now to make all those bits of embroidery lying around in drawers into boxes!

Hi Beth,
This looks great! Well done!
I am thinking about doing a more complex box for a new class, so watch this space!
Best wishes,
Sarah

Hello,
I have taken the Stem Stitch Videos and flipped them for left handed viewers. So what was originally posted starting the stem stitch on the right wing, it now starts on the left side. Keep in mind, the audio instructions are still the same as they were for the right side, so there might be some referral to the “right wing” but this is n…[Read more]

Also, when you get to stitching the center body, please be sure to also read my posts here (some points I forgot to make in the video lesson):

Regarding stitching the center body…
When you couch down the center body (with the coils across), be sure that you pull it snug to hold down the threads, but not so tight that the center body becomes too stiff. It should be that you can take your finger and press down on it, and it’ll depress a little. We need it like this, so that it’ll l…[Read more]

So wonderful to hear this!! Just use one strand of the white thread and you can use your size 8 needle with it.
I just checked the Crystal Set videos, and it seems I missed posting this video, which explains to use one strand. So sorry about that!

My butterfly is coming along great! I can’t tell how many strands of the white thread you are using to apply the iridescent sequins. The thread as is will be too thick.

Great! And that was fast shipping!
I’ll start to flip the videos and reupload them. They have to be flipped, re-exported then re-uploaded to YouTube, so it’ll take tonight and maybe a little bit of tomorrow to do so, will update you.

Thank you for the suggestion. When I realized the oversight I ordered the SolidGnik frame. Received today. Assembly required. Hope to be up and running soon.

The edges of the organza fraying should not matter as long as it is fitted into the hoop securely.
Which step are you at?

Ok, just let me know if you want them flipped.
I’ll be on this class forum answering questions until 2 weeks after March 8. Don’t worry, I’ll keep the videos up on YouTube. Afterward the two weeks though, I might password protect them, but they will still be available. Let me check with Rand and Solveig and get back to you.
Do you want su…[Read more]

Thank you for flipping the stem video. Very kind. Please hold off converting the others. A major contributor to the challenge is discovery of failure to obtain a standup holder, to use both hands. I will need to catch up. How long will the course videos and downloads be available?
