I’ve done the stitching on a sweet bag but seem to have a mental block against doing the finishing.

I have that problem a lot. I have a whole stash of finished things waiting to be mounted, etc. One of these days……..

I think the finishing might be interesting with the ‘twining’ around the edges. Have you got Jacqui Carey’s books on sweet bags with all that info in?

I’ve begun More Than a Rose and wonder if you have advice on making grass on the mound go up and down instead of a solid line horizontally separating the 3 greens. You could try blending. I.e do 3 rows of dark , 1 row med, 1 row dark then medium, although there is not much room and you should do more alternate rows for it to be effective. If it is possible you could split the thread/yarn and blend dark and med, med and light together to make one thread for a couple of rows. Or, you could do it in a…[Read more]

Or you could do some odd stitches in the row above in the color of the row below to blend the lines

Absolutely you can do the “fingered” transitions between rows to make it look like grass growing!
