The Stitchtangle Tree by Alice Fraser, Nancy Claiborne, Chris Love, Lynette Maton, Sharon Powell, Jeanette Rees, and Frances Roark. Take a closer look in our National Exhibit Gallery.

We are all dealing with the current health crises in our own way. It may be helpful to have something to look forward to by designing a piece of needlework for the 22nd Through the Needle’s Eye National Exhibit. The virtual exhibit will be held in conjunction with the 2023 National Seminar in Boston.

TNE is EGA’s National embroidery exhibit of original needlework of the highest quality. It is Through the Needles Eye that EGA embraces traditional and contemporary needlework while expanding the perception of embroidery as an art form. The 22nd TNE will feature a virtual exhibit that will be available to members in the future. The pieces will be juried and judged through digital images while the selected pieces will be displayed at an in-person exhibition at National Headquarters, allowing the embroideries to be away from their home for about six months rather than traveling about the countryside for two or three years.

We are anticipating that the digital images of the completed embroideries would be submitted the first two weeks of May 2023 with the selected entries sent to Louisville the last two weeks in June. Begin thinking and planning for what inspires you now and what will encourage others for years to come. Start stitching and stay tuned for more information! – Georgann Lane, 22nd National Exhibit Chair
