Gretchen has decided it would be quicker and easier to list the stitching techniques she does not like than to list the techniques she does. She started out as a teenager teaching herself cross stitch, which she likes to refer to as “the gateway drug” of needlework. From there, she moved on to silk ribbon embroidery and voilà, a lifelong stitcher was born. Now she likes to produce her own designs and in the last few years has begun teaching small programs to her chapter.

Sherri learned embroidery from her father (a 1st place embroidery winner 4 times over) at the age of 5 and has blossomed ever since. Dad continued to take an interest in everything she stitched throughout his life. She enjoys learning new techniques and has skills as an advanced stitcher. She loves taking blank fabrics and creating a picture with thread, whether it is surface embroidery, goldwork, or needlepoint. She has been beading since she was 13 and loves to create unique beaded jewelry and fobs. She has taught chapter projects and region seminar projects since 2022.
