The National Nominating Committee (NNC) is responsible for recruiting members to serve on the Executive Committee, the National Seminar Committee, Through the Needle’s Eye National Exhibit, and other positions as needed. The committee is composed of seven members from various Regions across the country. Short monthly meetings on Zoom make it easy to stay in touch when we are in the process of recruiting. The Committee also attends the National Board Meetings. The March meeting was held on Zoom. The November Board meeting will be in person since it is held in conjunction with the National Seminar. Resumes are saved and checked when looking for possible candidates. I am currently serving my second term on the NNC.
Our work depends heavily on the resumes submitted by members, which we use to identify potential candidates for open roles. As our membership ages, it is becoming increasingly challenging to find volunteers. EGA runs on the dedication of its members, and the strength of our organization is directly tied to those who step up to serve. We owe a great deal to the many individuals who have filled multiple roles time and again—thanks to their commitment, we all benefit from the opportunities to grow our skills and knowledge.
Over the years, I’ve taken on various roles myself. Some fit me well; others didn’t. But each experience has helped me grow, and I’ve had the privilege of meeting some truly remarkable stitchers along the way. I believe I’ve gained even more than I’ve given.
So, how can you help? EGA needs volunteers at every level, including in the Education and Bylaws Departments. If you’re willing to share your talents, please complete the resume form available here (member login required). Your involvement can make a difference!
