Dear Needlework Educator,
The Heartland Region of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America, Inc. is pleased to invite teaching proposals for our 2027 region seminar, Stitching Among the Prairie Roses. This event will be held April 30–May 2, 2027, in Cedar Falls, Iowa—a city known as the “Gateway to the Cedar Valley,” rich in culture, natural beauty, and hospitality.
We are seeking proposals for classes that:
Span a variety of needlework techniques
Accommodate all skill levels, from beginner to advanced
Encourage exploration and creativity, including opportunities for stitchers to try something new
Class Format:
Each teaching contract will include three total teaching days. You may propose:
- Three 1-day classes
- One 1-day and one 2-day class
- One 3-day class
Compensation Includes:
- $450 per full day of teaching
- Economy airfare or mileage reimbursement
- Private hotel accommodations
- $68 per diem per teaching day
- Two seminar banquets and three lunches
Proposal Packet Requirements:
- 2027 Heartland Region Seminar Proposal Summary Sheet (one per class)
- High-quality images or illustrations of each project
- Class description and student learning goals
- Student supply list and estimated pre-work
- Kit description and estimated price (within 10–15% of final cost)
- Instructor biography and teaching history
