4 Days of Classes
2 days Judging Needlework Class with Judy Jeroy, Tuesday and Wednesday. Including submitting a judging proposal, routine judging procedures, scoring systems, ethics of a judge, organizing an exhibit, hanging a show, and questions to ask when judging your own work or when writing a critique. Practice judging will be involved on both days.
2 days Appraising Needlework Class with Margaret Azpeitia-Taylor, Thursday and Friday. How to appraise needlework, embroidery, quilts, and textiles for purposes such as obtaining insurance, filing for damages, selling items, donating articles, exhibits or documentation of items for historical purposes. Principles of determining values and how to write an appraisal.
Includes daily lunch. Open to students of all levels.
No prior experience necessary.
Enroll early to ensure a space.
Both of these classes are required to be completed before an applicant can apply for the EGA Certified Appraiser Program.
Judging Needlework two days class is required during applying for the EGA Certified Judge Program.
Cost per student: $200.00. Additional: Student to arrange and pay for own stay at local hotel. (Studio location and list of nearby hotels to be available after registration.) Fees are non-refundable.
