Gold Thread Awards
The annual awards recognize outstanding individuals who have given freely of their time and talents, and best exemplify EGA’s purpose. A total of 12 individuals may be acknowledged – one of each region, with a national recipient selected from among the region recipients and announced at our National Seminar.
Applications must be received no later than May 1, 2026.
Penny Evans Memorial Scholarship
EGA established the Penny Evans Memorial Scholarship to honor the memory of its namesake, Penny Evans. Penny Evans was a lifelong needlework devotee who fostered a love of embroidery among friends, family, and the many needlework enthusiasts she met traveling the world. The Penny Evans Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to an EGA member, who may use the $350 prize towards an embroidery class, study project, or similar educational offering by EGA, The Royal School of Needlework, the Japanese Embroidery Center or the City and Guilds of London Institute, in the U.S. or the U.K.
Applications must be received no later than May 1, 2026.
