Triple Lily Ornament

Gold and silver!

The glitter, the sparkle, the seduction of metal threads—especially when it sparkles in our embroidery. Can you imagine anything better than gold or silver in your work? Once you’ve worked
with metal threads, you can’t get enough of it.

If you’ve been intimidated by the larger, more complex pieces that you’ve seen, this is a small piece that will give you a good taste of what Elizabethan goldwork is about. You will have the opportunity to learn stitches used in Elizabethan Raised Work from Melinda Sherbring, a modern-day expert in the technique.

We will concentrate on the Elizabethan double ladder stitch, raised stem stitch, raised back stitch, Ceylon stitch, raised guilloche on cords stitch, split stitch, stem stitch, reverse chain stitch, linked chain stitch, double-edged linked chain stitch, double-edged chain stitch, padded satin stitch, and raised woven wheel.

These stitch names are pretty fancy, but don’t be put off by them. They just take a bit of practice, and the project is small.

Sign up and join us for two days of fun and learning. Both days start at 11:30 a.m. Eastern and end at 6:30 p.m. Eastern, with breaks scheduled.
