Thread Blossoms
Learn for the comfort of your home!
We all saw and admired Pat Olski’s Thread Blossoms series when it was first published in Needle Arts. The simple beauty of the projects spoke to many of us. Here is your opportunity to join with other members who also love the series, to create and personalize your very own set.
This project doesn’t have a kit. The supplies come from your stash, so you can make it any color you’d like. Pick a color and then go wild with embellishments. If you want yours to look like the model, though, each magazine installment details the fabrics and threads she used.
Did you keep the seven quarterly issues of Needle Arts in which the series appears: June 2022 through December 2023? If not, as an EGA member, you can download each project from the EGA website and print your own copies. Alternatively, you may purchase Olski’s new book, Thread Blossoms: Modern Embroidered Needlework Accessories, which includes the series plus five additional projects, available for purchase online this fall at Amazon.com.
We will concentrate on the stitches for the Scissors Safe on our first day of class. This pattern, which showcased the feather stitch, appeared in the December 2022 issue of Needle Arts, pp. 11–14. The supply list is on p. 12 of the download. On the second day, we will work on assembly and learn her tricks for finishing.

What are Virtual Education Courses?
Virtual Education Courses are EGA’s new interactive offerings. By staying in the comfort of your own home, you won’t have to deal with airline issues, nor pay for a hotel. And even though you’re not in a classroom together, you will still enjoy the companionship of stitching with other like-minded members.
