Would you consider padding the outside box sides when making a large box??

Another suggestion I would make is to have a footer or header with the Lesson number on it, since each lesson is renumbered starting with a “1”. Why do I suggest that? Well, I had all the lessons printed out and before I knew it, I had all the pages mixed up & I didn’t know which page went with which lesson. The Lesson number is only on the fi…[Read more]

I agree with Pat on the Glazed Thread No 80 since it seems to be very springy. After I carefully took the thread off of the label it was on, I found the center of the circle of threads, fit the circle over 2 glasses, stretched it tightly by pulling the glasses apart, then I was able to rewind the glazed thread easily onto an index card without…[Read more]

Your box so far looks really neat, and I love those fabrics together, the colours complement each other well.
Using tacking on is a great method for darker fabrics, and for the Trailing Variation for the oval shape you won’t need to remove them. With the Feathered Chain, there is a small risk that your tacking stitches might be visible, e…[Read more]

I also finished stitching my monogram. I realize the tip of the long curl on the top line looks flat instead of rolled because I did not angle the needle enough. I tried to restitch it but it was impossible to pick out the tiny couching stitches.
Because I am using darker fabric for my lid, instead of drawing the design directly onto the fabric I…[Read more]

Hi Sarah,
I finished constructing my outer box. I cut my mat board to the dimensions you listed above on January 19 and covered them. After joining the 144m long base to the end I was not able to join the 144m long front or back correctly. I think the base should have been shorter than the long sides by 4mm so I took everything apart and trimmed…[Read more]

I found that the glazed thread was hard to undo. It got all tangled. Could it be wound on a bobbin or a card? The amount of thread is enough but if anyone has trouble getting the length right and has to take out some stitches they could run short.
I got a bit confused about diagrams on page l showing the threads removed above the four sided s…[Read more]

I have John James curved beading needles #JJ31.. they seem to be about the same size as the thinner curved beating needle that we got in our kit.
