Good morning,
I’m really looking forward to this class. It’s going to be a lot of fun.
But, I don’t have the kit yet. When can I expect it? I’m ready to get started!

Hi all,
As well as the places mentioned above, others have been able to get them from Colonial Needle and Needle in a Haystack, which will ship from the US.
You can also buy them direct from John James (but I’m not sure what shipping is like!), which is where I buy all my needles including embroidery, chenille and tapestry (you can also bu…[Read more]

Hi Virginia,
I’ve never done a certificate of completion before, is this done via the EGA? Alternatively if there is a standard form used by the certification programme, I can use that?
Thanks,

Joanne,
This looks great!
Not a silly question on the transfer – I had a rubber stamp made up, and I use that and a fabric specific ink pad to transfer the designs on. It works great for smaller designs and is nice and quick when I’m making kits. For larger designs I use my Cricut with a Gelly Roll pen.
Best wishes,
Sarah

Hi Sarah,
How can I get documentation of completion for this class? I am participating in an embroidery certification program and am taking a variety of classes in preparation but need a teacher signature for proof of participation. Can you help me with this, Perhaps via email?
Thanks so much for a wonderful class experience.

I made reductions to the core threads of my trailing after doing a sample with the original number.
I found that because my lines were not as long as some in certain
of the letters I was able to get a better look. I began with 10 threads for the letter and I reduced the oval to 6 threads from the original 8 to keep things in proportion. It’s NOT…[Read more] -

Kudos to you, Marjorie! It looks very good.
I finally started stitching today but ended up cutting out all my work
because the counting did not fit inside the area. I’m discouraged.
It was good to see yours, to know it does all work out!

<p style=”text-align: center;”>I got mine from 123 Stitch. They were $2.96 for two, shipping is always $3.49 no matter how big your order and the shipping is speedy, 2-5 days. I bought 3 packages!</p>

You can get the needles from Amazon. Make sure you put in your search “john james curved beading needles”. They are more expensive but it equals out if you buy them from an embroidery shop because you have to pay shipping there. Of course that’s if you have Amazon prime. Otherwise put that information in your search engine and they will…[Read more]

Sadly, I misplaced my beading curved needles. Does anyone know where I can go to replace them. Since it may take awhile, I’ll use my bigger needle to complete the project.
Thanks,
Mary

Hi Amy,
If you are using the calico fabric from the kit, that shouldn’t be down to the weight of the fabric . I use a medium weight calico (UK name), which I believe is called muslin in the US – (muslin forme is a very fine cotton fabric that is almost transparent). Without seeing your proposed new backing fabric, it is difficult to know w…[Read more]

I’m really struggling with the monogram. I tried doing the trailing stitch but the perle threads came out towards the end of the first section. I’m also having a difficult time stitching through the calico for some reason. I decided to try stitching it with a satin stitch instead but it didn’t come out smoothly, partly due to the thicker calic…[Read more]

Hi Florance,
When I’m working this stitch, I work down with my normal stitch length until I’m about 3 stitches from the end – I then mentally divide the remaining line into 3 and slightly adjust the stitch length up or down to perfectly fill the remaining line. I find it best to do over 3 rather than 2 s the length adjustment is then not…[Read more]
