This is the EGA Christmas ornament for 2019 done on 32 ct. Belfast linen. Antlers are goldwork.

I have been doing some research for a new design and looking at the portraits of the women and men of the Tudor period – think Elizabeth I or any of the wives of Henry VIII. There is some interesting blackwork on the clothing. It is fun to see just how the blackwork that we do now has historical roots.
