Thanks for the friend request acceptance Nancy. I loved seeing the project you are working on during the last Zoom session. I do enjoy the SIG groups.
I have 22 projects on the go at the moment but that includes 7 crazy quilt blocks for a lap throw. The hope is that by the time autumn comes around I will have a quilt for my cat to put its claws into instead of my trousers and legs! The Tricia Johnson lessons are very useful but finding time to watch them again, let alone having a go at stitching a motif is more difficult. There are not enough hours in the day for me to stay awake and stitch!
Do you have any furry supervisor in your home? We have two cats and life seems to revolve around their needs and desires.
I removed the running stitches on the Crewel rose introductory project and it’s ready to be continued when it is time for its turn on my rotation plan. I am trying to source more twill fabric for future projects as there’s none available here in Cyprus and my European suppliers don’t seem to stock it. I don’t suppose you have sourcing problems in the US.
I may have to resort to asking a Cyprus neighbour living in the UK to take a delivery and bring some over from there when they come back for a week in July. I had thought of Sarah Homfray’s UK shop but seeing her video last night it seems she’s likely to be away on a cruise teaching crafting so I will check out more UK sites and avoid the extra import duties by sending the deliver to my neighbour’s UK address.
Let me know how you are doing. Happy stitching.
Hi Nancy, It was good to see you at yesterday’s Zoom session. I decided to check out the EGA friends as I recalled you and I were friends. I was right.
Reading my message to you 6 months back I realise that I am stilll going to have to organise some more twill fabric to be able to do another design. I have just put it on my shopping list.
I got out the Crewel rose project last week for the first time since July. I pulled back some of it as I failed to read the instructions properly on colours for different leaves and stems. It looked a bit more interesting after re-stitching in the suggested colours. Barring more ‘incidents’ I will hopefully finish this before Christmas.
Sorry to have rambled on – I’m obviously avoiding trying to make new friends.
Enjoy your Sunday and I hope you find stitching time.
June
I admit it was not that easy to remember how to find the friends I made a few months back, let alone how to make new ones. I did manage to make a friend last night and she’s accepted. I was not sure that the request had gone through as we were ‘mid-discussion’ on the topic during the Zoom session.
Now I’m going to try again. I never knew the menu line was called a Dashboard which shows how much my observational skills are failing – it says the words as plain as can be!
