December 2025 Stitch-a-long: Chicken Scratch Tree

For our December 2025 stitch-a-long on Facebook we are stitching a chicken scratch tree by Nancy Cope from our Pajarito Chapter in New Mexico.

Here’s more about this month’s project from Nancy:

Chicken scratch embroidery is a form of cross stitch worked on gingham fabric that creates an optical illusion of lace overlay. It is also called depression lace since it was popular in the 1930s.
