Lesson 4: I have tried 3 x to do a post of pix of my idea. I am becoming very frustrated. I am going to do a cat or one of Raven’s grapes but after a 4th try I am giving up. One of the first was a pdf but that was not acceptable. The one that came through was a tag on a purse I own. I am trying to hang in there.

    • Oh wow Jean. Here I am, just now realizing that you sent me a message. I’m still getting acquainted with this website. It drives me crazy, I’ll be looking at a page but if my mouse goes to far up the page a different page pops up and I have to mess with the mouse to get my page back. That’s really annoying. And there are other problems with the way the website is set up but oh well. at least we have one. I like your cat. That looks like needlepoint, right? that is so cool making it so you can carry it around as “bling” on your pocket book. Great idea. Is it actually your kitty? I’m also getting used to using the correct names for techniques. I so love embroidery. Here’s my warbler that is on my Pres. Challenge. Don’t know if I’ll be able to finish it by the end of the year. I’m constantly finding more to do with it. But this is my own design. I drew the Palm Warbler from watching them in my backyard. No matter what, this piece will always be about her. She looks like she’s levitating, lol, but that’s because I didn’t put the fence in yet. She’s standing on my fence. First I have to fill in the background with the thyme grass, Granabana tree and Ptomba bush. It’s my fruit lot. They love to hang out there eating all the numerous bugs. (Living in florida comes with lots of bugs and lizards.) This is on a 16″ linen napkin. I used derwent watercolors to paint the abstract background, on top of which I’ll embroider the actual tree, grass, fence and bush. However, I just found a cool ribbon with leaves that I’m trying to make the ptomba bush. Well, enough of that. I could talk all day about this piece. I’m really loving it.

      • Hi Jean and Pam

I am also getting ‘lost’ on the friendship pages but having found these posts I will reply whilst I can lol.

Your cat tag is amazing Jean. So perfect.

I look forward to seeing your progress on the Palm Warbler Pam. I have no idea what a ptomba bush is so it will be interesting to see how that part of the project turns out.

I am still stitching away at the 20 or so projects (8 of which are crazy quilt patches). I may finish the credit card holder piece before the end of the year but I am not very keen on final finishes but will persevere on this one.
