This is a picture of the mask my husband designed. Splat is what he calls the program that he has been working on forever. One evening he announced that he would like me to make a mask. I asked him what color. He asked if I could stitch a normal curve. (Our daughter points out that a normal curve is not a color.) Anyway, after awhile he…[Read more]

Buenas dias, Margaret. I have used backstitch before in stitching a needlework piece, but not quite in the way that you are using it in this piece. The instructions for using the backstitch in ending a thread is a little unclear. Is the thread cut off behind the canvas when ending or on front of the canvas as is done in the beginning when…[Read more]

Stuck at Home but Stitching 5 years, 9 months agoWe all are looking for the right project to stitch just now. I chose “Praising Angel” a Romainian point lace designed by Sylvia Murariu to do in her memory. I thought it was appropriate in this time. I found my tension was very varied while stitching one side of the robe vs the other side. But it is my tribute to her and my hope we will come…[Read more]

Lori, she is beautiful.

Absolutely stunning!

thank you for your kind words. Be safe.

Wow! That’s so beautiful! I love whitework, and have dabbled in beginning lacework, but have never tried that style before. It looks incredibly time-costly! All those tiny filling stitches! @.@

Thank you – glad you like it. One of the things I like about it is that I am not piercing the muslin or ground cloth but rather stitching within the outline cords and above it all. The needle is always on the top of the surface. Some designs are made to be removed from the ground cloth when finished (as this angel was). It gets a “rhythm” going.

So I am sharing it for other people, and to get feedback if that\’s reasonable?
