Edelweiss

Blossom of snow, may you bloom and grow… Edelweiss. Using shimmering threads of white on Antique Blue canvas your garden will be stitched with Crescents, Jessicas, Sprats Heads and Wrapped Eyelets. Our garden will grow using silks of Elegance and Petite Silk Lame’ Braid and to capture the glisten of snow we will use Crystal Braid and Glisten. For additional radiance pearls, crystals and beads will be added for depth and luster. Edelweiss will be 6“x 3“on 18 mono canvas and may be finished as a framed piece or an ornament. Edelweiss is available on three colors of canvas; Antique Blue, Victorian Red and Victorian Green with matching crystals and pearls.

Class Details

Technique: Counted canvas stitching and embellishment
Prerequisite knowledge: Basic intermediate
Registration price: $263 *With current world situations and uncertainty of tariffs, class prices are estimates and will be finalized by August 5, 2026.
Dates and times of class: April 3 and 10, 2027 at 7pm EST for one hour, a third session may be added if class participants and Kurdy feel it is needed.
Design Area: 6” x 3” on 18 count mono canvas
Kit Contents: You kit will include an 8” x 10” canvas, the threads named above, beads, pearls and crystals, stitching and beading needles. Your instruction booklet will have everything you need to stitch your design.
Student supplies: 8” x 10” stretcher bars and tacks, usual stitching supplies

About Teacher Kurdy Biggs

Kurdy is a counted canvas designer, teacher and owner of Threedles Needleart Designs. Kurdy holds a Level II Teaching Certificate from the National Academy of Needlearts. Her Geometric designs have won numerous awards from ANG, NAN, EGA, TNNA and Woodlawn. She has been published in Needlepointers, Needlepoint Now, and Cross Stitch and Needlework.
