  • For those of you that are struggling with the tension of the needle lace, I would like to suggest that you practice on a scrap of fabric in either a square or a circle doing the most simple of the stitches, so needle lace stitch number 2. If you would like, you could also watch an instruction video for this stitch, on its own at…[Read more]

  • Hazel, I have been practicing needlelace stitch #10, and am seeing some improvement in my stitches. I am wondering if it might be a good idea to do all the areas using needlelace #10 before I move on to the other needlelace stitches, while it is fresh in my mind. Or is it better to work on adjoining areas on the design instead of skipping…[Read more]

  • John,
Ok after agonizing at the stitch shop. I think I have my colors at least to start. I know you have given me so much help, but I wonder if you would weigh in one more time.
    Thank you,
    Krista

    • Krista, I’m not familiar with the overdyes 5029, 8033, and 9010. Please share the brand. I like your colors.

I appreciate your comment on my colors since I am not very good at picking my own! Can’t wait to see your stitching.

  • @John Wadell. I really want to add a 4th overdye and the appropriate 3 light, medium and dark solids to my already-settled 3 overdyes. These 3 are the vertically placed threads in the 2 photos below. The horizontal threads (3 in the top picture below, 4 in the bottom picture below) are potential candidates. I have spent so much time trying…[Read more]

  • Has anyone signed up for Shimmering Dreams and not received their materials.? I have called the headquarters twice and emailed Mona, the teacher, and still have not received anything. Checked my spam and trash folders too.

    • I have had a similar experience. I’ve emailed and called headquarters. They have also emailed her. I still haven’t received anything and my order was placed back in January.

    • Patty and JaNaye, I know I have talked with you both, and we are still working on the HQ end to get this problem solved. I also want you to get your LR materials as soon as possible!

  • Lesson 1 is up there, everyone. Have fun and I will check this group a few times a day (my time zone) to see if you have any questions.
