Students will explore the construction and embroidery of a Color-Changing Chameleon hanging ornament, combining goldwork and stumpwork techniques to create smooth color transitions, rich surface texture, and dimensional form.

Throughout the class, participants will develop confidence and control when working with colored metal threads through hands-on practice with couching, chipping, cutwork over string padding, and shaping techniques. Students will work with a wide range of materials, including smooth passing threads, twists, pearl purl, bright check purls, smooth purls, rough purls, and rare vintage Japanese threads.

About Teacher Clara Warschauer

María Clara Warschauer is a hand embroidery artist and educator based in London, specializing in goldwork and stumpwork embroidery. Her practice focuses on dimensional and sculptural approaches to traditional techniques, often inspired by nature and informed by historical embroidery methods.

Clara has been teaching embroidery internationally since 2020 through virtual workshops and in-person classes, working with students at a range of skill levels. Her teaching approach emphasizes clear structure, live demonstration, and a strong understanding of materials and construction, enabling students to confidently apply techniques beyond the specific project taught.
