Dear Jane,
I am so sorry that these were missing from your kit – the fabric you are talking about is the calico – known also as muslin. I will send the missing items (wool felt, tissue paper and tracing paper) out to you, and hopefully they will arrive quickly.
Best wishes,
Sarah

Dear Sarah,
I’m looking forward to taking your class!
I received my kit and was only able to open it today. I ordered the full kit but do not think that I received everything. I do not have tracing paper or acid-free tissue paper (unless the purple tissue paper is acid-free. I either received the calico for a 6″ hoop or the white wool fe…[Read more]

If it helps, I downloaded the chart to my tablet rather than printing it out. I also had problems with the grids. However when I enlarged the chart all the grid lines appeared and life was good. Don,t know if it will work for all but might be worth a try.

Hello! I received my box for the full kit a few weeks ago but have only had time to open it today. I do not think that I got everything that I was supposed to. I do not think that I got White Wool Felt, tracing paper or the piece of acid-free tissue paper.
Will I be sent these items? Please advise. Thank you!

Hi, Dawn,
I have the chart printed in 3 parts, but they are each a bit different size due to cropping them in a photo editing program I have. I believe I can work with it, and I’ll have a report back on Friday after trying to get basting on Thursday.

Hi Nancy,
Curved needles are tricky to get the hang of!
It is possible that the tape is slightly too close to the edge of the card – I usually leave about a 2mm gap from the edge of the card to the tape. If this has happended, try making your stitches right on the corner of the card (hopfully the tape doesn’t go over the corner). It’s probably…[Read more]

Another note, as you an see in the master graph, each of the stitching areas will (besides the beads and button) line up to the outside.

Hi Sarah,
I am struggling to ladder stitch the box sides together. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. It seems to be incredibly difficult to get the beading needle to slide between the fabric and the mount board. I only made two stitches before the beading needle snapped in two. Did I pull my fabric too tightly around the board? Did I put the…[Read more]

The master graph shows that the area is 146 linen threads wide. Remember, each square on the Master Graph represents 2 linen threads.
Don’t worry about being off, the basting lines are just guides for the placement of the stitches. It doesn’t have to be exact, as long as the outside area lines up.

Sorry you are having problems. Have you saved the PDF to your laptop, printed it from there? That might help. The chart will be small when printed, so it might be best viewed on your ipad or laptop.
It’s hard to know what is going on without seeing it. The problems of technology, since many times no 2 problems are the same.
When I view the PDF…[Read more]

I did not see a reply to my question about the chart, and I bringing it up in a new topic here. I spent over two hours using both my laptop and my ipad to download and print Lesson 1. The charts on page 4 and 6 do not print all the gridlines. I cannot use the master chart. I used every manner of attack i could think of. The lines are more…[Read more]

Sarah, I found the solution to the curved needle problem – forceps! They grip the needle and I am finally able to push it through the fabric. Hooray – I’m back in business!
